Privacy Policy

How Shift&Sip collects, uses, shares, and protects information across the app, shared schedule pages, and calendar subscription features.

Last updated April 13, 2026

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Shift&Sip collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Shift&Sip mobile app, public share pages, and related calendar subscription features.

This version is tailored to the features currently present in the product, including sign-in, schedule management, sharing, push notifications, and screenshot-based shift scanning.

Information we collect

  • Account and profile information, such as your email address, display name, username, avatar choices, and shift timezone.
  • Schedule and sharing data, including shifts, shift types, friendship connections, share links, and personal calendar subscription tokens.
  • Imported content you choose to submit, including PNG roster screenshots and any optional text context you provide for screenshot scanning.
  • Operational and device data needed to run the service, such as installation identifiers, push tokens, platform details, and crash or error diagnostics.

How we use information

  • Authenticate your account and keep your profile information in sync.
  • Store, display, and update your shifts, shift types, avatar settings, and timezone preferences.
  • Generate public share links and personal calendar subscription links when you ask us to.
  • Deliver notifications you opt into, such as friend-request related notifications.
  • Analyze screenshot imports and convert them into structured shift data.
  • Monitor reliability, investigate failures, and protect the service from abuse or security issues.

When information is shared

  • Clerk is used for authentication and account identity.
  • OpenRouter processes screenshot scans when you use AI roster scanning.
  • Sentry receives crash and error data so we can diagnose failures.
  • Expo and the underlying Apple or Google notification infrastructure are used to deliver push notifications when enabled.
  • Public share links are intentionally shareable, and anyone with a valid public share link can view or subscribe to the schedule it exposes until you disable that link.
  • Personal calendar subscription links act like private access keys. Anyone with a valid personal calendar link may be able to subscribe to that calendar until you rotate or disable the token.

Permissions and device features

  • Photo library access is requested only when you choose screenshots to scan.
  • Notification permission is requested only if you choose to enable push notifications.
  • Secure local storage is used for session-related data and device installation identifiers.

Advertising and tracking

Shift&Sip does not currently show third-party ads in the app.

We do not sell your personal information. We do use service providers for authentication, diagnostics, notifications, and screenshot processing as described above.

Retention and security

  • Account, schedule, and sharing data are kept while your account remains active or until the relevant data is removed from the service.
  • Raw screenshot images submitted for AI scanning are transmitted for processing. The current application does not intentionally store those raw images in its own database after analysis completes.
  • Operational logs, push device records, and diagnostics may be retained for a limited period under our providers' retention practices.
  • We use encrypted transport and access controls appropriate to the current service architecture, but no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Your choices

  • You can edit many account details directly in the app, including avatar settings, timezone, shift types, and sharing controls.
  • You can revoke public share links or personal calendar subscription tokens from the app.
  • You can control notification and photo-library permissions through your device settings.
  • If you need a request that is not currently self-serve in the app, use the contact or support details published on our website or in the Shift&Sip app store listing.

Children's privacy

Shift&Sip is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. If we make material changes, we may notify you in the app, on the website, or through other reasonable product notices.

For privacy questions or requests, use the contact or support details published on our website at https://shiftsip.com or in the Shift&Sip app store listing.
